BALDACCI ANNOUNCES FEDERAL ASSISTANCE FOR RURAL HEALTH CARE OUTREACH INWASHINGTON COUNTY
BANGOR, MAINE - U.S. Representative John Baldacci announced on Friday thatthe United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has awardeda $200,000 federal grant to the Regional Medical Center at Lubec. The funding,which is being made available through the DHHS Public Health Services Bureau,will be used to conduct rural health outreach efforts in Washington County.
"I'm pleased that the United States Department of Health and Human Serviceshas recognized the need for enhanced health care services in rural partsof our nation. This significant federal grant will make a difference inthe lives of many people in Washington County. This grant represents animportant partnership between the federal government and a community serviceorganization. It is welcome news for Washington County," RepresentativeBaldacci commented.
