Protect kids from the sun's harmful rays
Sunny weather has arrived, and we need to remember to protect ourskin, and our children's, from its dangers. Here are some tips toprevent the risk of sun damage: Apply a full, egg-sized amount ofsunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 before they head outdoors; uselaundry additives that rinse sun protection right into clothes(clothing only protects with an SPF 5); get your child a pair ofsunglasses with UV-ray protection; encourage children to play in theshade between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Relay for Life under way
The American Cancer Society's signature fund-raiser, Relay forLife, is under way. Relay for Life is a 24-hour team walk that raisesmoney for cancer research and education. One member of a team will beon the track at all times. Twenty-two relays will be held throughoutthe Miami Valley through August: Friday and Saturday this week; alsoMay 26-27; May 28-29; June 4-5; June 11-12; June 18-19; June 25-26;and Aug. 6-7.

Health District offering AIDS tests
The Greene County Combined Health District will provide free 20-minute AIDS tests through August. Appointments are required for theOraQuick test, which is a finger stick. Results will be providedwithin 20 minutes.
The health district also provides HIV/AIDS education, confidentialand anonymous testing and free counseling services to anyone 14 andolder.
